Hi I’m Carl and I paint live on TikTok at 10 pm UK time most days. I usually complete a painting on canvas in one hour. I use the wet and wet technique where oil paint is put on top of wet oil paint building up the landscape picture. Also known as Alla prima . I also sometimes do acrylic painting or acrylic and oil together using acrylic paint as a base coat .
My painting and art journey started in approximately 2020 when I started watching the joy of painting with Bob Ross . Then I found out his teacher was William Bill Alexander and his TV programme was called the magic of painting. I was instantly inspired and gave it a go, I found it does wonders for the mind , reduces anxiety and makes me feel very happy . Art really is a wonderful thing .
